WASHINGTON — Roger Stone, an associate of President Donald Trump, says he won't provide testimony or documents to the Senate Judiciary Committee. An attorney for Stone said in a letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, the committee's top Democrat, that Stone was invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination in refusing to produce documents or appear for an interview. Feinstein made the letter public via Twitter Tuesday afternoon, one day after President Donald Trump tweeted in support of Stone.
There are a long list of people who wished they had declined to talk to Mueller without immunity. He is running one of the dirtiest investigations in history, but that has been the norm for him and his buddy Comey.
Don't get triggered or butthurt, it cuts both ways. it's dirty cause he is investigating the dirtiest and lowest of the scum out there.
Imagine this was important like when the director of the IRS politically targeted certain members of the country based on their voting tendencies.
But Trump didn't influence Stone in any way. ------------------------------------------------------ Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump “I will never testify against Trump.” This statement was recently made by Roger Stone, essentially stating that he will not be forced by a rogue and out of control prosecutor to make up lies and stories about “President Trump.” Nice to know that some people still have “guts!” ---------------------------------------------------------- The Washington Post spoke to several law experts who suggested the tweet could be a clear indication of witness tampering and obstruction of justice. Trump previously compared those who took the Fifth to those in “the mob.” “If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment,” Trump said in his attacks then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016, referring to her aides who faced questions over the use of a private email service when she was secretary of state. “The mob takes the fifth,” he added.
