Robots delivering meals, making custom salads in S.F. San Francisco-based Marble set loose its first fleet of restaurant meal delivery robots this week in the city. The autonomous rolling box looks like a deli’s ice cream bar freezer. Marble is deploying the robot crew in a partnership with Yelp Eat24, whose app takes orders from local restaurants and coordinates delivery. Marble also announced Wednesday it has raised $4 million in a seed funding round. (Xconomy)
It's inevitable. Automate what the knowledge workers are doing intuitively. It's all mostly concise and objective. If Steve Cohen can teach computers to think like top traders, then we can teach robots to prepare meals like top chefs, etc...
robots would also serve your other physiological needs. https://www.google.com/search?site=....0...1ac.1.64.img..0.10.568.F_yD9skhmMc#spf=1
no need for lunch/bathroom/cigarette breaks. Pure slaves. And No pensions. When they are too old and not functioning well anymore, just toss them into the garbage. LOL
One thing is for sure. They are not just faking it; the whole thing about them is fake. LOL If that's your cup of tea, well have fun!
They have to be maintained and that means we need more repairman robots, and those repairman robots always need more parts, so now we need robot parts makers, and where does it ever end? Forget it, too complicated, I'll just hire some cheap Mexicans under the table. Even they can deliver food.
Well once the robot technology matures, all the robot maintenance jobs will also be handled by robots. There would be robot-repairing robots, robot part-maker robots, robot parts-delivery robots, everything will be automated. The only jobs left to humans would be perhaps robot designers or robot creators. Once a template of specification is created, even robot designing can be done by robots who can just design new robots using the specification templates. Even the Mexicans will be out of jobs.
