    I was thinking about this...

Lets say Ford sells 2M cars in the US, and lets say there's approximately 280 Million vehicles on the road.

Ford discovers an electronic glitch in the ECM that affects all those cars. The glitch causes the ABS system to go tits up anytime someone jams on the brakes at a speed greater than 45MPH.

Most of the time the back-up system catches it in time and the brakes catch and the car stops. But many times... it doesn't. People are dying everyday.

Ford comes out and says, "we're not having a recall, this is a small percentage of cars on the road."

"We have fixed the problem for all subsequent vehicles, but we're just going to let these cars go."

"Eventually all the ones that don't work right will get totaled out and everything will be fine."

Ford CEO: "People are dying?! So what?! People die everyday in car wrecks. Cars have been getting in wrecks for years. Most of these cars' will stop anyway, that's been proven. This is no big deal; people are going to die in car wrecks."

  2. What makes the vaccine scenario somewhat apart from the car safety scenario is that- ideally- vaccine makers will be able to speak to a net benefit. ie. yes, we have had some issues but the overall net benefit has been a net saving of lives.

That in fact is the standard that the FDA uses in approving a vaccine: Do the benefits outweigh the risks.

In the car scenario, if a specific manufacturer has problems there are other alternatives for the consumer if production should be halted.

I think you might have missed my point.
I was referring to the mindset that existed among many in our a per-vaccine world.

"Lets let everyone catch it, some will die, big deal."

What's the "libtard" position on it? Mine is the opposite.
