Dont even want to post the live shots, this just ruined my night, ppl are jumping to avoid burning to death, and its on live T.V., reminds me of 9/11, its terribly shocking. I Cant even imagine having to make that choice, It reminds me so much of 9/11 where the bombardment of information we get on a daily basis about terrible stuff finally hits home. You see so much on the news and it doesnt register, then something like this, and the news and all the bad news becomes very real. Its incredibly sad. RIP.
Yes. Horrible. I think it's arson or terrorism. I saw the photos from the Daily Mail. That's not a normal fire (imho). I think an accelerant was involved.
Hmm. I just read that there were concerns about the building filed by a resident's group a year ago. Old mattresses building up in the entry way. That could explain the ferocity of the blaze. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/lat...e-grove-north-kensington-great-fire-of-london
Yeah i dont like how the media hesitates to blame terrorists....... when there is a car bombing in afghanistan, odds are pretty good its a terrorist. Then they say "well the most important thing is that we dont jump to conclusions on this carbombing in afghanistan" But in this case i think it looks like legitimate fuckups, i just cant fathom how a building that big could trap that many people in with a fire, but i doubt its terrorism, thats why i didnt want to jump to conclusions. Either way it doesnt matter, this one is shocking, and bring back bad memories, hope the surving people can find some peace after this, its incredibly sad.
Regardless of the reason for the fire itself, it should not have spread so much or this quickly all over the building. It engulfed a 27-storey building for 15 minutes, spreading over its facade. I hope the victims who passed away rest in peace and the survivors to get the help they'd desperately need now.
I just read that some kind of foam insulation or cladding, that is somewhat of a standard in the UK, and elsewhere, may have caused the inferno. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3800401/grenfell-tower-cladding-fires-world-high-rise/
I read that too. Not to mention that there are a lot of other buildings with that sort of cladding all over them. Horrible.
Unlike Fox or Breitbart, they wait for information before they report it as fact. Everyone can have their preconceived notions, and they may well prove to be accurate, but we look to the news not for confirmation bias or hysteria, but factual reporting. If we wanted someone to just tell us what they think off the top of their head we don't need the news, we just need P&R. Come on, you know this.
^^^ A fire that engulfed a London apartment block, killing at least 79 people earlier this month, started in a fridge freezer, police in the U.K. city said Friday. Det. Supt. Fiona McCormack said the Hotpoint model, FF175BP, was not subject to recall and that the manufacturer was doing further tests. "We now have expert evidence that the fire was not started deliberately," McCormack said. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/grenfell-tower-fire-cause-1.4174576 See?
