    Richer billionaires

The coronavirus crisis has seen the world's billionaires increase their combined wealth by a quarter, according to a new report from UBS and PwC. The report found there are now 2,189 billionaires, up from 2,158 in 2017, and their combined wealth amounts to $10.2 trillion. A couple hundred of them publicly donated $7.2 billion to help fight the pandemic. Deutsche Welle

  2. Big wup! Isn't that "generosity" sort of like someone like me buying a homeless drunk a cup of coffee??

I'm not a billionaire, but I donate a hell of a lot larger percentage of my purse to worthy causes!... and that's AFTER our government has raped me on taxes every which way from Sunday! (In case you want to know... my major charities are breast cancer, children's hospitals, military veterans, and animal shelters.... see how that works? People donate to causes that are close to their own heart. My wife works at a children's hospital, we have a couple of friends who have died or survived breast cancer, I'm a military vet, and we're both big-time animal lovers.)

Whats that? Ohhhhh I thought the gap between the rich and poor was supposed to be narrowing, well I mean they talk about it consistently how unbalanced the poor and wealth gap is and how they believe they have a solution, yet decades and decades and decades have come and gone and all the gap forever and ever and ever widens........

According to Piketty, it is due to the return on capital > economic growth rate. It's fixable of course, even with out making rich people significantly less rich, but since rich people rule, the fix will not be voluntary. That's why Guillotines are so useful.

  5. Wealthy gap is not an issue. Jealousy is.

Inequality, climate change, diversity, non-binary genders, these are all politician talking points to get them into office. These issues mean nothing or very little to the real world but they made you believe that these issues are the biggest issues.

By doing that, they could get away from real issues like employment numbers, stagnant wages, bad economy, bad policies and so on.

  6. It's ALWAYS going to widen!

Smarter, more accomplished people make more money.

Invested capital begets more capital. That's the Capitalist Financial System way.

The people who bitch about "income/asset inequality" know this too... they're just pandering for sympathy and/or votes.

The only alternative is where the "power elites" get ALMOST EVERYTHING... and the other 90% of us queue up for our ration of toilet paper and potatoes. (You know, like the former Soviet Union... and that's where America is headed if our DemoCraps get their way about it.)

So, I say... "stop bitching about how much more somebody else has than you and make your own way to success". Other people do and have done so... maybe you can also if you try. But whining, "it ain't fair"... isn't going to cut it.
