Has anyone had any expierence with em ? Specifically holding equities for longer terms. found this : https://community.revolut.com/t/trading-for-standard-users/108288/14 but paying to much trust, for random 1 post users, would be foolish. Thanks.
I use Revolut for long time and (as additional account), I had no problems with it and I'm happy with it. But I didn't use it for equities. Company is from UK, after Brexit they have also EU branch. I know they tried to get banking license some time ago but I'm not sure what is the result.
Just a private use for traveling (you can pay in many countries and the currency exchange is very good, interbank rates), it's also possible to store some money in other currencies (there are wallets possible in many currencies). Very useful in countries with other currency then my homeland currency. I also used it once to exchange for crypto, but it was not possible to send coins or get it from Revolut (they try to avoid money laundering etc.), so for some small speculation in cryptos it can be used too. But I wouldn't trust them a lot of money, they are from UK and highly regulated, which is good, but still, I think there is no deposit protection. Update: I checked it while writing this answer, as I'm from EU, they have now bank license here, so my money is protected up to 100 000 eur, like in any other bank here. So up to that amount it's ok. But I think that for ppl outside EU, they operate not like bank but like LTD company.
