now they come to their senses? we could have had a debt deal 2 years ago if these republicans had been grownups. Conservative Weekly Standard columnist Bill Kirstol said it won't kill the country to raise taxes on millionaires during an appearance on "Fox News Sunday." Kristol said that after a bad night on Election Day, Republicans should reassess their positions and be open to new ideas. "Don't scream and yell when one person says, 'you know what, it won't kill the country if we raise taxes a little bit on millionaires.' It really won't, I don't think," Kristol said. Kristol continued, saying he doesn't understand why Republicans don't just take President Obama's offer to go ahead and extend the Bush tax cuts for everyone making under $250,000 per year while a larger deal is reached. "I don't really understand why Republicans don't take Obama's offer to freeze taxes for everyone below $250,000, make it $500,000, make it $1 million," Kristol said. Kristol continued:"Really? The Republican Party is going to fall on its sword to defend a bunch of millionaires, half of whom voted Democratic and half of whom live in Hollywood?"
Obama wants to raise the tax on millionaires. Gov Cuomo want to raise the tax on millionaires, NY needs the Revenue. NYC wants to raise the tax on millionaires, they need the revenue. ------------------------------- This is why 250k income is a millionaire tax, not enuf millionaires to go around. The city and state are competing for the same tax revenue as the Fed.
Households with 250k income are not millionaires. Boehner should push for a 75% tax on all Hollywood income as part of the compromise. Actors, actresses, directors, producers, take 'em all out. Slap them with 75% with zero loopholes. Obama loves raising taxes, doesn't he? That will be one tax increase which will go well with the Republican base as well. Win-Win for all
Taxes raised on those making over $250k will only solve about 6% of the deficit. Closing all the business tax loopholes will contribute about 9%. Where's the other 85% going to come from? I don't hear anyone talking about that.
100% tax on all Congressional income until the deficit problem is resolved. You'll see how fast all those assholes figure something out....
