If nothing else works, squeeze other people for money.

    Housing new crisis

"There are now 9 million more renters than there were just a decade ago, the biggest jump in renters on record, and they are paying more for rent than ever before.

Of the nation's now 43 million families and individuals who rent, 1 in 5 are considered "cost-burdened," or paying more than 30 percent of their incomes on rent, according to a new study by the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies. Others pay half their incomes.

"The crisis in the number of renters paying excessive amounts of their income for housing continues, because the market has been unable to meet the need for housing that is within the financial reach of many families and individuals with lower incomes. These affordability challenges also are increasingly afflicting moderate-income households," said Chris Herbert, managing director of the center..."

Real Estate taxes going up for bankrupt cities. And, put a police officer on every corner to catch people speeding. Take out IOUs can't even pay the lottery. Raise the cost of getting an education so you can go work for $15 an hour with $100,000 in debt.

The US is a rat hole.

And may God bless you and may God bless America.

I overheard a conversation yesterday. Two women talking one works the other is trying to get a job with her. The one employed, at a state college, says they are using tuition to pay the employees. That there is no budget since the state is broke.

And may God bless you and may God bless America.

  4. And yet you are still a diehard leftist...Detroit, Chicago...same story, same ideology, similar outcomes...

You don't understand. The answer is not more Capitalism. The market is not justice. The market is not moral. The market simply allocates resources to where it needs to go and rewards the lucky for being "right". And when you don't have a stake in production [the means of production as stated by Marx] where your wages are not compensated in accordance to the work you do but instead goes to making share holders richer, RENT SEEKING, regular people will be left behind with no means of escape. As more and more people tip to the other side, mark my words, 75% of us will "get it". Why do you think outsiders like The Bern and Trump are top candidates? Reagan wouldn't have a chance in today's Presidential Elections!

This system is a recipe for disaster. The blind hand of the market doesn't work. 90% of European countries understand this. Being a good business man is code word for, "how do we leverage all the suckers to make money for us by giving them jobs for as little as possible" ?

And may God bless you and may God bless America.

  6. I would argue that there really isn't "capitalism" at work behind this unfolding disaster...Take, for instance, something near and dear to Chicago...the "crony capitalism" of the Daley clan and their privatization of public assets...parking meter deal, toll roads, Millenium Park concessions, just to name but a few...What it all amounts to is both sides love the self dealing, kleptocracy, they just go about it in a different manner...
