Renko Charts with IB as my broker?

Hi,

I am usinng IB as my broker and TWS as my trading software. If I am not mistaken, it is not possible to get Renk charts in TWS.

Therefore I am looking for a solution to use a different software which allows me to manage my IB account and to draw Renko charts. If possible I would like to do this with my IB data feed but would be also willing to pay for alternatives if the IB feed cannot be used.

Any suggestions?

Look at www.ninjatrader.com www.sierrachart.com www.multicharts.com www.motivewave.com www.linnsoft.com all will use IB as a datafeed. There are probably others.

multicharts has Renko the others probably as well.

 

Thank you. I just tried NinjaTrader but either I am too stupid or NI is not backfilling the data for a Renko chart. Is that becuase of my IB data feed or am I doing something wrong?

 

Try the multicharts demo, I have seen the renko charts on that.

 

Ask on the Ninja forum. They're usually fast and helpful.

Does IB provide tick-data? I wonder if you need that to draw Renko charts.

 

Got it working with MultiCharts for now. Will compare with the other softwares later.

IB does not prvide tick data as far as I know. Please correct me if anyone knows better. I think the data is filtered.

Is it possible to subscribe to non-professional data feees with Multicharts?
