Hey guys, A lot of the time, Interactive Brokers is not able to locate shortable shares. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best trading platform to short stock? I really appreciate any advice.
Tellerd66, Interactive broker have a pretty good short inventory but if you are having trouble shorting you can try Etrade. But be aware that unlike most other brokers Etrade charges hard to borrow fees(assuming the stock is hard to borrow) as soon as you get into the position and they charge three day interests if its a position that is place on Fridays. Most broker don't charge this fee unless you hold it overnight.
I would say that Wedbush Securities, our clearing broker, offers good locates but IB might be better. What we do offer that IB does not are premium locates from Velocity Capital which is a built-in tool in Lightspeed Trader and Sterling Trader Pro. This service often has locates when other brokers do not but they have a cost per share. Bob
