I'm now full time day (and swing) trading. Are there any (free) chat rooms .. it seems it could be productive to have people watching and reporting on trending stocks as we see them develop .............. look at RTE . watch for reversal on AEM etc. .. I'd like it to be vendor free .. if it doesn't exist I'll create it ...but would rather find several I could listen to during the day...
You only have a few message post and probably didn't realize this forum has a "search" function in the upper right corner that will tell you the answers to your question. A question that's been asked multiple times and answered. Free chat rooms all over IRC and you have Stocktwits.com You can follow interesting traders or you can follow specific stocks. Stocktwits does have a list called "trending". http://www.stocktwits.com/home#trending If you can create something better than the above, you have a multi-million dollar business. P.S. You used the word "listen" in your message. You looking for something audio ?
I did find 6-8 threads ,but they are all outdated or don't describe what I'm looking for.. I hadn't thought about it, but a audio channel would be enough, (except that we couldn't pop up charts , but everyone has that, so just the contract name would be enough) I'm looking to share , maybe create a team of traders with like interests .. I have been around to a number of chat rooms (a few charged $$$ but weren't productive for me), all are nearly empty or never give any (to me) useful information ..
Sounds like you're looking for something more specific to your needs. You can easily create a chat room. Most have setups less than 5 minutes. Yet, the management afterwards is what sink most chat rooms. Traders just aren't into managing their own room because it requires work especially when trouble makers show up. I recommend getting something that's also mobile.
I'd set up something .. I have nothing to sell, but would like to assemble a team for day trading... I'm a programmer and have set up many websites .. I assumed this exists already .. maybe the pros wouldn't be interested in sharing their ideas .. thanks for the responses
Howdy, I checked out that thread and it's making my head spin. Curious how they determine which posts to feature in that trending thread, kinda thinking it must be some sort of random sample of all the posts or something.
Not random and which ones they choose to highlight...I have no idea what criteria they used. I do know you don't have to follow what they follow. I have my own criteria and follow whom I want to follow in my own stream list. I have a list for which traders to follow for futures, which traders to follow for stocks, which traders to follow for forex and which to follow for real-time market news. I even have a list for traders that use technical analysis and consistently post broker statements to verify their real time calls. Simply, create your own personal lists via whatever you want or you can just try to follow those generic streams that make your head spin. For me, it makes my stomach feel icky...to much stuff moving across the screen which is why I made my own personal lists catered to my personal interests. Yet, it will require lots of time and understanding how stocktwits works to make your own custom lists.
You're probably just new to using Stocktwits or we're both looking at something different. Once again, you need to create your own list. Its what I did because the default list is as I refer to as nauseating.
