Reading ELD file without Tradestation

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by williamblake72, Jan 4, 2024.

  1. I would like to learn Easy Language but I don't want to open a Tradestation account because there is an inactivity fee. Is there any other free platform or software which can be used to open an ELD file?

    Thanks

    1) $99 monthly 2) it opens ELD file as viewable text file (so you can read it ) for a service fee

  4. Gain Trader apparently supports EasyLanguage, so I am thinking it can read eld files. I have never used it. Google for brokers who might offer it for free. You will probably still need to pay for data at least and fund some kind of trading account for long term usage

  5. Thanks, at this point probably better to open a TS account and pay the potential inactivity fee which they introduced.
A question: what is the difference of a TSW and ELD file? If i have a TSW file, can i still open it with Multicharts to read the code of a strategy?

  6. Google it first please
    TradeStation Workspace Files (*.tsw)
    EasyLanguage Document File (ELD)

If the files are not proprietary, someone who is a TradeStation user maybe even me, could open them and send you the text back by PM?

  8. Yes I know this, but the strategy code is inside an ELD file or the tsw?

Indicators themselves might be in a workspace file TSW but all code for the indicators themselves are kept in ELD files. They work together but are completely separate files.
