I don't get the sudden reaction to this. We knew he coldcocked his GF. Now because we see it in real time he is a worse monster? The Ravens have to be the most hypocritical franchise in sports. They have a statue in front of their stadium of their most prominent player, Ray Lewis. Is Rice really worse than Rayray?
Appears that Rice is the victim of the NFL trying to appease the PC crowd. Of course the PC crowd will take that statement and claim I'm defending what Rice did. Nonsense! Here's the issue. When Rice committed this offense, the NFL had no policy to address it. In a feeble attempt to do something they gave Rice a 2 week suspension. Okay, that isn't much more than a slap on the hands and people let them know that. On 8/28 the league unveiled there new policy to address this issue. In a nutshell it goes like this. You hit a woman, you get a 6 week suspension for a first offense. 2nd offense you get a lifetime ban, but are allowed to apply for reinstatement after one year. Like it, don't like it, not the issue. That is their written policy going forward. So my question is, assuming you want to apply this new policy retroactively, should not Rice be getting a 6 week suspension? Why the indefinite ban from the league? Here's why. The NFL is pulling a PR stunt in an effort to cover up their piss poor handling of this event to begin with. So the way I see it, the NFL still has no clear policy. You would think that the league union would step up and ask some questions. Instead they've abandon Rice because they're scared to death of the blowback. Pussies! Either the league has a policy or they don't. What is the policy? Now as far as what I think should have happened to begin with. Rice does time for assault and never plays football again. Simple as that.
He's not doing any time. He was given some sort of deal. I can see the league monitoring for PED's. I don't really see why anything else is their business. It's even worse because they have this pompous stuffed shirt commissioner who seems to think he is the commission of PC.
Is it typical for a man to lose his job in any other profession if he gets into a domestic altercation with his fiance/wife? This is all about pro sports becoming the handmaiden of the left's social policies. Right along with the race agenda and the homo agenda.
Ray Rice went and told the NFL exactly what he did. His testimony was completely inline with what the video depicted so I have no idea why he was cut and suspended after the video came out. If he lied about the incident thats one thing, but the NFL knew exactly what happened because Rice was truthful and told them exactly what happened. Ray Rice ought to sue. Also, lets get rid of this Goodell and bring in a commissioner who actually has a clue how the game is supposed to be played. It is getting tough to watch these games played with the rules that Goodell instated. The fact the Goodell is likely going to lose his job because of this video is best thing to happen to the NFL in a long time.
Centerplate CEO Desmond Hague was fired for thrashing a puppy in an elevator. Centerplate, is a food and beverage corporation serving entertainment venues in North America, and the UK.
BS. Ray Rice did not tell the cops nor the mgmt. that he knocked her out. They were both arrested! Of course it was purely to protect the guy's career. Married one day after the indictment (spousal privilege). Let's see how you all feel after punching out your wife in public. See how lenient they are with your ass. Then come back here and prove yourself a hypocrite.
Rice gets reinstated based on the same argument that I laid out. It is almost as if the Judge came to EliteTrader and read my post and made a decision. Look at her statement compared to mine, its uncanny. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/rice-wins-appeal-suspension-vacated-201529594--nfl.html ''Because Rice did not mislead the commissioner and because there were no new facts on which the commissioner could base his increased suspension, I find that the imposition of the indefinite suspension was arbitrary. I therefore vacate the second penalty imposed on Rice."
