Progressives will not be coming out for a moderate in 2024 so most on that list have no chance

And the democratic party, being just a alternate flavor of agents for the shareholding class, will not be putting forward an actual progressive candidate.

Tsing Tao and Tony Stark like this.

  4. Progressives are just a portion of the democratic party....they are not big or strong enough to get a candidate nominated yet alone elected. Bernie came close but not going to happen in current environment.

Right was successful in getting a populist elected and moving him far right but the fallout now is the progressive wing of the left will not be allowed to get any traction...

  5. I tend to agree, Trump has made the Democratic Party a bigger tent. Some of the more Wall Street types who held their noses for years over the religious right found Trump and the current Republican Party to be a bridge too far and they’re overwhelmingly going to support centrist Democrats.

Hillary and Gore lost because blacks and progressives stayed home.

Bill,Obama and Biden won because blacks and progressives turned out in high numbers.

Moderate Democrat voters alone are not enough for a democrat to win, thier numbers were about the same for every election since 1990.The difference between the winners and losers were black and progressive turnout.

  8. But the progressives did not get any candidate of theirs out of the primaries or into office....

Also the limited thinking that all Blacks are progressives when there were plenty of Blacks that voted for trump is the blind thinking that failed Hillary.

Progressives don't have the numbers to decide the nominee but we do have the numbers to sink the general election candidate.

Black voters don't have to be progressive, they just have to like you.Biden's approval ratings with blacks are around 30 points lower than Obama and Bill Clinton. And plenty of blacks did not vote for Trump, thier turnout was just much lower than 2012
