RAM shortages b/c of US sanctions against China

Discussion in 'Wall St. News' started by earth_imperator, Aug 1, 2022.

  1. The computer industry is currently switching to the PCIe5 and DDR5 standards. This means new mainboards and new memory chips. As everybody knows from experience: new stuff is initially expensive. The industry was on the right track... until this Biden idiot again did a totally nonsense step and destroyed the hopes of the industry to do the switch smoothly: the US sanctions Chinese RAM makers! This will have catastrophic consequences! RAM will again become very expensive and even shortages are to expect.

One can only assume this is a move meant to bolster the CHIPS act they just passed, to entice more USA chip-making. Light a fire under our asses or something?
