Putin congratulates Joe Biden on U.S. election victory https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-russia-idUSKBN28P0PC Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday congratulated Joe Biden on his victory in the U.S. presidential election, after Biden won the state-by-state Electoral College vote that officially determines the U.S. presidency, the Kremlin said. The Kremlin had said it would wait for the official results of the election before commenting on its outcome, even as other nations congratulated Biden on the win in the days after the Nov. 3 vote. “For my part, I am ready for interaction and contact with you,” the Kremlin cited Putin as saying in a statement. “Putin wished the president-elect every success and expressed confidence that Russia and the United States, which have a special responsibility for global security and stability, could, despite their differences, really help to solve the many problems and challenges facing the world,” the Kremlin said.
Using the standards set by Democrats in 2016 we can conclude this means Biden is a Russian operative.
Obviously. Let's all be honest for a brief moment and agree Russians, Chinese and others have been meddling in our elections for several decades. How much that meddling accomplishes is the question, and while it does not influence outcomes IMO, it has certainly cast doubt and discord which is a win for them. As I have stated before, they don't care who wins, they just want the ensuing chaos.
Mainly true, though we do have posters here emphasizing those who say, "if I had known this about Biden I would not have voted for him." (Or, "Soros is spending millions to cause... socialism!") So maybe you don't believe, but some conservatives do believe opinion and consequently voting can be changed via the internet. And the internet is the big difference between today and previous decades, it gives a lot more leverage. (Some would argue it reduces leverage, I'm still thinking about that.)
I am pretty sure that Biden has already gotten a little note from President Xi saying: "We look forward to continuing to do business with you."
I'd like to see a study that did some real research on that topic, did reading social media get you to change your vote? My guess would be not many, but who knows. I think most people are well entrenched in their choices, and probably don't trust anything they read that doesn't support their candidate.
A friend who worked for Dell once told me how their Austin call center support staff were jealous of the European and Asian follow-the-sun offices because the US has a freephone number and the others did not. This was back in the 1990s before the internet was common. The freephone allowed lonely people to call in for no reason other than to talk.. which they did. Thank goodness ET arrived to save old Trumpers from holding a phone to their ear. I'm off to make some clips for a friend's birthday video.. better than watching this desperation.
