Interesting concept. They claim to rebating part of PFOF back to the customer. A new price war?

Wow. As you said, interesting concept. Hard to see how they will make money. They do suggest tipping after a trade, which seems a bit odd. The other ways the mention don't seem to bring in much money.

According to their website, under how we will make money,

    Optional Tipping

Public offers optional tipping for members who want to support our decision to reject PFOF as a source of revenue for our business. Tipping is a transparent way for us to monetize and puts control in the hands of our members. Importantly, Tipping is completely optional; whether and how much to tip is entirely up to the member.

  5. Yeah, I was reading about it and was perplexed. Maybe it’s some legal loophole where they get PFOF-style payments but in a roundabout way?
