To you professional futures traders- Do you trade the open? Do you put on big size with conviction at every open? Or is trading the open more for paper? Or do you not trade the open and let the initial balance setup to get a gauge of where market wants to go/determine it's range- and then place trades based on that? Or is it a mixture of both? Sometimes you might see a great setup on the daily and determine you want to be in long/short no matter what right from the open? And sometimes market might be range bound, and thus you let the initial balance setup?
Starting 8.30 up to 3 trades NQ quite mechanically until 9.15 since NQ is quite tricky to trade sometimes so no need to spent more time there. Slippage also occurs during this time range often. On the other hand outside this time range it works for me too its just slower but other markets are there too. Right now I cannot imagine daytrade just one market. It does not make sense to me anymore. I now trade DAX, NQ, CL, 6E, NG. I like the "portfolio effect"
