Problem with Laser I CANNOT FIGURE OUT

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by Green_Ring, Feb 9, 2010.

  1. when i try to log in I get this error, and do not know why. I have reinstalled at least 15 times.

I should say I am able to connect on other computers. It is something w/ the current computer I am using. Weird huh?

    Anyone have any ideas?

  3. genesis is really picky about the servers you connect to.... you probably have either a typo in your Executor server ip address or port, or you have an old server list, or your account has been disabled.

you should contact genesis to confirm your account is ok and also get their updated ports list.

This is more than likely the problem.

The IP addresses come from genesis.ini, so review that file with Genesis (or copy the genesis.ini from a working computer)

Every time I upgrade Laser it breaks genesis.ini, and I have to restore the file from a backup, lol

  7. I transferd the whole TRADER folder, and I still get the same damn error

I'm, assuming that the program was stable several weeks ago and all of a sudden you got this error? Since reinstalling the program shows no progress, may be a dependent system file got corrupted. Try checking your hard drive.

    In WinXP, do the following:

    Error-checking

    My Computer | Right click hard drive| Tools| Error-checking
    Check both options.
On warning message, just agree to check on reboot.
Reboot and be patient as it checks your hard drive.

Do this for your main drive. If your program is installed on a separate partition drive include that one as well.

For advanced users, you can accomplish the same error checking procedure by doing the following Run | Cmd | Chkdsk /F /R

Again, be patient and give it time to check your disk. It can take hours depending on the size of the drive.

If the Check disk procedure fails, go into System Restore and rollback to a previous stable date.

Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore.

  9. make sure you don't have restrictive firewall on this computer that is preventing connections
