LOL, I almost fell off my chair. Welcome to real, no-BS fact-checks. Thank you, Ilon! The White House on Wednesday deleted a tweet that credited "President Biden’s leadership" for the increase in Social Security payments, which was flagged by Twitter as something that was actually caused by a 40-year high in inflation. "Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden's leadership," the White House tweeted Tuesday. That tweet disappeared without an explanation from the White House by early Wednesday afternoon. That original tweet was accompanied by a note from Twitter that said many readers were adding "context" to the WH message that said the jump in Social Security payments were "due to the annual cost of living adjustment, which is based on the inflation rate."
Just another example of the Biden administration taking credit for something they have nothing to do with. Sadly the social security increase is coupled to the high inflation rate -- Biden taking credit for the social security increase effectively means he is taking credit for inflation. Of course, Biden as very little to do with the global inflation problem. He can do minor things in the U.S. like releasing fuel from the oil stockpile in an attempt to ease fuel prices which is one of the underlying items causing the inflation.
Of course, Biden has very little to do with the global inflation problem. Of course, Biden could do much better to lower inflation in the US.
And what exact steps should Biden take to do that? Hint: Not a single Republican has been able to articulate what exact steps the executive branch should take to effectively combat inflation.
The White House on Wednesday deleted a tweet that credited "President Biden’s leadership" for the increase in Social Security payments, which was flagged by Twitter as something that was actually caused by a 40-year high in inflation. So, WH representatives totally agree that Biden should have credit for skyrocketing inflation. LOL
So just a reminder -- Republicans do not have a single useful suggestion on how to reduce inflation. And you expect Biden to fix it.
That's not good, no, but keep in mind that it was taken down, instead of doubled down on until it became a main part of the entire party's platform.
Makes you wonder how the future tweets from the WH will go now that they realize Twitter won't shield them from context.
