pre market options

Discussion in 'Options' started by osho67, Nov 6, 2012.

  1. There are many products -Some ETFs, YM, ES, NQ etc are traded premarket. Why are options on these products not traded during these hours?

Are there any prodicts in US where options can be traded before the markets open?

    Thanks

Future options on what you mentioned (ES, NQ, YM) trade almost around the clock. Fills at midpoint on these are common on the Globex exchange. MM quotes don't always display around the clock though.

    Settlement is in futures

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any other symbols, I'm not really actively looking though, there might be others for all I know.

Never. OCC options may not open until the underlying is open at the primary exchange.
