  1. Hi,

I am applying for portfolio margin with TD Ameritrade and I heard there is a 30 minute online test. Any help on how to prepare for the test will be appreciated.

Don't worry, it is not rocket science. Read up about portfolio margins and you will do fine.

At Lightspeed, we do not give a test. You need to qualify based on your financials, experience and Risk tolerance. We also have a higher deposit requirement. Happy to talk on the phone one day to see if we are a good fit. Before you open your account at TD, ask them if the account will change when it ports over to Charles Schwab.

Maybe, just maybe, if you can't pass this test on your own, a Risk based margin account with higher leverage is not right for you?

We do not give a test. I think only APEX does that. We require higher financial, risk tolerance and years of experience with all option levels. Anyone with years of experience with all option levels would find those questions manageable.

  10. Hi Thank you. However, I don't plan on using nor do I need a margin. TD is requiring it as part of my overall portfolio. Anyone successfully taken this test? Thanks again
