    Poindexter and traderob like this.
  2. The Pope has a moral responsibility to come clean on all the pedo priests in his employ and quit covering for them. Until that happens he and the church can go fuck themselves and their moral platitudes. They are in no position to pass judgment on anyone about anything.

Peter's own descendant is dictating God's policy, and what do Christians do?

  4. LOL. Gods policy? Isn't anyone knows what the fuck Gods policy is. Never have. Religious doctrine is all it is. Suddenly the secular left gives a fuck what the Pope has to say?

  5. Nope.

The Roman Catholics separated from the Early Church in 1054....ie. The Great Schism.. thus ending apostolic succession for clergy and followers of roman catholicism. That remained with the Orthodox Church and remains there today, and within the Coptic Church.

    You are welcome.

The current Pope is more of a Unitarian than anything else.

Quite a few of his people at the top levels need to be locked up for conspiring to obstruct justice or direct participation in pedo crimes.

    How so?

How do you know whether the Church in Rome or the Churches in the East were correct... and therefore whether the Church in Rome or the Churches in the East separated?

“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” ( Matthew 16:19 ). Later, addressing all the disciples, our Lord repeated the words, “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” ( Matthew 18:18 ).

  8. Not going to even attempt here to replay the seven to ten ecumenical councils that addressed this, and in the end, the catholics have "Papal infallibility" which is sort of a wild card that always be used to trump anything. Just the notion and existence of papal infallability alone gives an indication of which party has gone off the reservation even moreso since the Schism. Along with several other issues such as their revision of the nicene/sp creed etc. I guess the Anglicans think they have apostolic succession because they split off from the Catholics too. Gets goofy.

Will stop here. We know a religious discussion would go beyond politics forum.

    Merry Christmas

Ditto. Anyway, I have no problems with migrants entering this country (the US) legally. Just curious, notwithstanding whatever moral authority the Pope has, has he read Romans 13 recently ... "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established." NIV Rom. 13:1.

  10. Is this gibberish supposed to me something to me? What? This God is judging all of us? Fuck that God of the religious zealots. So let me see if I have this straight. This God creates all of us, does a piss poor judge with this creation which is full of imperfections and shortcomings, drops us all into this meat grinder of a life, fills it with one temptation after another, knows we will fail to meet his "test", knows our complete destiny, and then will condemn us all to hell for doing exactly what he has planned for our lives? But, BUT thankfully for us he has given us an out. If we listen to these pedo priests, fork over some money, and ask to be forgiven for doing the exact things God has us doing, then we get a reward at the end. Yeah, think I'll take a pass on that bullshit.
