If I pay the entire futures initial margin for the orange juice contract, can I get the orange juice somehow? $1500 dollars worth of frozen orange juice shipped to my house or something? Thank you.

    NO!!!

Let's say you buy 1 lot of OJ Futures. and the initial margin is $1500.
and you hold it till expiration.
Do note that Futures are leveraged.

upon expiration, you have to take physical delivery.
You have to pay xxx liters of OJ which might cost $50 000.
will it be delivered to your home? most likely No.
You have to refer to the contract for delivery details.

Enjoy the massive quantity of Orange Juice !!!

If anyone has done this recently, please speak up.

Yes you can. Tell your broker you want delivery of the underlying, but you may regret it. Send me your email or phone by clicking on my username and sending a private message. Ill tell you some stories.

Holy crap! The lack of knowledge is mind blowing sometimes when it comes to trading leveraged financial products. Do people even read the contract specs?

You'd have to pick up your delivery at the licensed warehouses. A futures exchange is no Amazon!!!

Also one contract is for 15,000 pounds of FCOJ at the ICE. It settled for 150.90 per pound. The full contract is worth 2.25m USD.

Jesus Christ @FCAPhil what are you smoking??

Don't be hard on OP, he's got the money and was dreaming of him and wife running a lemonade stand out by front gate.

I am not sure. I have already seen a lot of similar questions with the same level of intelligence on ET. Questions that were no jokes.
    Remember, we are on ET!

  10. We used to wind up desk juniors by telling them to make sure they bought the VIX futures on a physically settled basis. If any of them asked, we said we stored the volatility we had been delivered in the basement.
