I was thinking of opening a futures account and tried a Demo from one of the brokers but I am not to crazy about it. Which platforms do you futures traders use. CQG is highly rated but they have 3 or 4 versions. Looking to daytrade MNQ, MES, M2K, MYM.

I like Tradovate, but when it comes to choosing a futures broker, platform is almost an after thought for me.

For me it is all about low daytrading margins, zero data fees, and instant deposit and withdrawal.

I went to some futures brokers websites and almost none of them offer free data feeds.

    I trade futures at U.S. Plus500, I highly recommend.

No data fees or inactivity fees, so you can leave your account idle for a month if you go on vacation or have other commitments.

Only downside is desktop platform is a bit awkward, but mobile app is good. Try the demo first.

And daytrading margins are low: $1,000 for NQ and $500 for ES. Sure some brokers may be slightly lower, but they have all these other fees and restrictions.

One other thing, futures brokers commingle your money with others, so financial strength of the broker is very important. Plus500 is a $2 billion publicly traded company due to their huge money making CFD business overseas. So you can easily deposit say $100,000 with them and sleep at night.

There are other smaller futures brokers, where I wouldn't dare keep $100,000 with them.

I am sorry, it is not regulated by CFTC as far as I know. Your account is not safe. But I have seen their ads on YouTube feeds.

Going to U.S.plus500 website it looks like they are a foreign company, based in Britain I think.

I read that AMP is based in Dubai, is this correct. Are you familiar with any of the futures platforms like CQG or Metatrader.
