Basically what he said is that plants, nuts, seeds and fruits of all types contain lots of toxic chemicals that are harmful to the human body, and those natural pesticides that many plants contain are actually present in much higher concentrations than the artificial pesticides that are sprayed by farmers. He gives many examples but one is brussel sprouts, which contain over 130 toxic chemicals that are harmful to humans. And then he winds up the whole thing by saying that many so-called diseases such as type-2 diabetes are actually issues that are caused by the buildup of various plant toxins over time, and those toxins block certain enzymes and chemicals released by the pancreas which causes the diabetes problem later in life.
An even shorter summary than @Baron's is he's basically saying humans should only eat a certain class of highly-processed plants - aka meat. A few sentences cover his diet philosophy. The youtube channel is called "Low Carb Down Under," and unfortunately there is no shortage of non-plants down under that would think nothing of killing you too. https://www.thrillist.com/travel/na...ll-kill-you-animals-that-will-try-to-kill-you Everything in Australia That's Trying to Kill You
Shots fired! Yep, it's hell living here in Oz. You learn to avoid or deal with all those things while growing up. We might have Brown Snakes, Salties, Spiders and Jellyfish, but you guys have got Bears, Alligators, Rattlers and the Kardashians to survive. Take care Mate!
Yeah, because one of the side-effects that's not so pleasant with the carnivore/keto diet is that your breath and body odor can become pretty gross... maybe not to you but to those around you. But think about it... it makes sense since there's nothing in your gut 24/7 other than a pile of decomposing meat. But my main question for those with this type of diet is this: How do you keep your muscles from depleting glycogen? I kid you not, but after three days of low carbs my muscles are already so flat and weak it's ridiculous. I can understand if a person is using this strategy before a bodybuilding competition or something, but to function at a high level both mentally and physically on a regular basis without any carbs seems so far out in the stratosphere for me. And honestly, after years of testing all of these dietary theories on myself, I can say without any hesitation that my body responds to much higher carbs and much lower protein than what is typically considered normal. I never get fat from high carbs but as soon as I start upping the protein to any bodybuilder level, all I do is get fat. Go figure. I feel like I'm the total opposite of this guy.
Plants won’t kill me if they are not poisonous initially. I’m not a vegan, but I need some plants from time to time. As for the toxic content in plants, that’s an inevitable price for civilization. However, this content is exaggerated. The food industry uses even more chemicals. Mushrooms are the most dangerous of all the plant world because they absorb tons of polluted stuff. That’s what I always stay away from.
