"Hedge funds, 'reverse trolls' crushing biopharma innovation

Prior to September 2012, a company faced with a patent-infringement lawsuit brought by a patent troll (an entity that acquires patents just to seek cash payouts from other patent holders), your only recourse to invalidate the troll's nuisance patent was through the federal courts—a very costly and time- consuming effort..."

  2. Probably the whole patent law system would be an outdated system that really needs to improve greatly!

Perhaps any inventor who cannot provide proven progress within a certain period by launching the invented product/ service should be voided for the already granted patent! LOL

The whole patent system is horribly malfunctioning. Patent lifetime should probably need to be shortened to something like 3-5 years, that's enough time to make it worthwhile for the inventor unless the patent was just designed to rob someone who actually wants to produce something useful. This would also mean that people would only file patents if the invention is truly worth something.

I'm not surprised a character like marketsurfer is involved in this racket, LOL.
