This is not surprising, wasn't it a defense agency who funded internet....

As a corporation? I am not saying it is right or wrong. I just didn't realize this sort of thing was possible. It seems as if the government always looks to the corporate world to solve its problems. I am wondering why not do the same with Pharma? Or Defense? Or Infrastructure. Or............

The US government has backed corporations before, e.g., the renewable energy companies. But as far as I can tell, this _is_ a US Gov company? And it could go public?? Why can't the government compete in the same space that it's corporations do?

How about a US Governent run corporation that allows trading stocks, etc on its ECN where all the data is free and anyone can make a market? It will be in the middle of nowhere near say Hoover Damn for electricity, so that energy will be very inexpensive, very clean, and colocation will be super cheap?

The ECN will be called, GOV.

  7. The CIA does all sorts of stuff with the private sector. That is where the talent is found. Did you think the had an internal "Bureau of Innovation"?

  8. The CIA is one of AWS largest clients. Every time you load an app and click for it to be allowed to ready your emails, calendar, etc. guess who is watching....

Data backup firms are brilliant...why don't you load all your files to our server so we can scan and index them....

Free games...nothing in life is free...I create a free Texas Hold'em game so you give me access to your entire phone....

    it goes on and on.
