Why have 100 stops, when none will do just fine?

*BELCH* I suppose it can make for a good discussion, but it is not one I am up for at this time. This is easymon's thread, heh.

Here ya go for when you get frisky again.

    It won't be long, lol.

    You still on vacation?
Did you just fill up on some Maine Lobstah?, give you some burps -

Do Digestifs Live Up to Their Name? Probably. “Alcohol may reduce the feeling of pressure and fullness after meals,” says Scott Gabbard, M.D., a gastroenterologist at Cleveland Clinic. But alcohol isn't the only ingredient in some digestifs. There are also the herbs. Although most brands don't disclose their (often numerous) ingredients, some herbs are used by doctors to treat functional dyspepsia. This condition occurs when the top of the stomach doesn't open, leading to bloating and feeling full quickly. Note: Anything beyond one drink doesn’t enhance results.

Overnight, Do you daytrad, swing trade, buy and hold, investor?

eg. one comment on the thread above says:
"Great advice, I would go even further if someone is a trader (investors all totally different game) risking 150 basis points is way too much. I would risk even less on any single trade."

A trader who closes out positions with a horizon of 2 days or less may justify tighter stops than a 2 week horizon, and again a 2 month horizon, 2 year horizon...

Old newsletter writers used to reco get out if stock price drops 25% below entry price. That'd be some hair raising shit for a day trader, lol.

Have you had any situations where you were uncomfortable with (unrealized - because you have the luxury of wide stops if any at all) drawdowns to your account on the way to your intended goal?

How did that discomfort manifest itself in your world.

How did you deal with it?

Have you ever had to bite the bullet and take a loss that you decided not to ride out? How big as a percent did that (those) end up being?

Did you exit on fundamentals? on technicals?

How did you determine your 'uncle' point?

Why wouldn't you have stops on your ETF or Mutual Fund?

If the trend ends you don't have to ride it down.

Don't you believe that the market cycles?

You are asking me questions the answers to which you can find in my journal. Go read them, in the journal section. It is a REAL MONEY journal. It is not a shit-licker dickfuck sim POS. Get it?
