    Hi guys,

Most options payoff calculators only allow 4 legged strategies and I get why. Not least having an 8 legged order would be pretty hard to get filled.

But I’m looking to get an idea of what my payoff will look like if I overlaid a couple of strategies in the same product/expiry. I don’t expect to work them all as a single order but still it would be good to know what my risk:reward would be on little portfolio of positions.

    Thanks.

you should learn how. It’s a basic skill these days.

Further, If you can’t analyze your own Structures at terminal payoff then you very very likely don’t understand basic options and shouldn’t be trading them.

What the hell are you talking about? I came here to ask a simple question. Looking for a bit of guidance, perhaps a suggestion of software that can calculate it and I just get one line answers which amount to “go figure it out”. I can do that without coming to a so called “community” of helpful like minded people.

For your information I have been a professional futures trader for 15 years and probably made more money from trading than 99% of people here. But in the interest of sharing ideas and learning from one another id like to know more about modelling complex options strategies. A pretty reasonable request I think. Even a template of where to start with an options modelling excel spreadsheet would have been nice if you happened to know of one.

But to take time out your day to write sassy “use excel” “use Google” is pretty pathetic.

Are you looking to calculate option payoffs with forecasted prices or with existing prices? If it's with existing prices for a multi-legged spread, it's quite easy to do in Excel with formulas based on elementary math. If you can't even do that, you shouldn't be trading options, honestly.

You don't need software. Excel is more than adequate to calculate any option combo's payoff. We are not joking.

I want a pay off diagram ideally with a T+ line. I’m sure I could do it in excel. My question was more for an off the shelf solution rather than building one myself. And thank you for the advice I’m more than capable of trading options and have been yielding 20% returns annually for a number of years. I just was asking for some simple technology to advance the modelling side of options.

I am sure if you dig around, you will find some software and if you are willing to pay, I am sure some companies can build one for you but we are not aware of any off-the-shelf solutions. We just build our model in Excel.

    Good luck!
