Options on non-U.S. exchanges

Discussion in 'Options' started by SoCalOptionsWriter, Sep 1, 2022.

  1. Options don't seem to be a big deal/player in other countries as they are in the U.S. at the retail level, which makes me wonder why? And what countries do have a robust retail market for options? Has anyone ever done a study? Are big players trying to make a change?

  3. Europeans needs to learn about options, instead of only Forex. They love to gamble. And Asians too. In ten or twenty years....everyone will be gambling at home. Market gambling will be as common as having an email address or using social media or having the vaccine.

  4. Europeans are mostly leftist trash, they don't grasp markets, not even simple stocks. They are not innovative, they like to create their own non-standard craps, instead of creating standards. They have tens of thousands of non-standard options-like constructs like "turbo certificates" or whatever they call the crap. Seems like binary options. Of course each bank has its own crap, no attempt to internationally standardizate it... b/c they very well know it's just crap... :)
And: don't ask for data of the crap, not even historical data... :) That's their mentaility there over... I mean here over... :)

It is IMO "strategically better" to bring European clients to the US markets instead of them having their own domestic option markets. IMO... :D

Eurex is big volume and open int. A lot of it on the SEC side relates to regulatory obstacles. CFTC stuff - little or no obstacles. SEC can be an obstacle.

You are confusing Structured notes with options.

Eurex US affidavit requires an institutional investor. Securities side - not CFTC.
