Last week I saw this TastyTrade Video Interview of an option trader, Mark Anderson, about his "success" at trading 0DTE and want to share it. I have not seen any ET post on him or this strategy unless I missed it. FORGET the Uber Driver to Millionaire Trader title BS... He was a very successful Extremely Large Construction Supervising Manager. With college degrees and etc and had plenty of money to invest in his inital option trading attempts over the last 7 years. He calls this strategy, he has 20 other option strategies, his DCA ODTE or more to the point Dollar Cost Averaging Volatility Strategy. At first glance he seems to be a wild gambler trading in a haphazard way. But when you look a lot deeper you find he is Mr. Backtest and "seems" extremely knowledgeable about all the moving parts of his strategy. also... Here is only ONE of his Vids on his uTube channel on how he does his Backtesting and how he is doing his risk management. I have NO affiliation with him. Not taking any course or part of his new fund. Just thought i would share his strategy since it is a different look.
Look for "synthetic covered calls". It is not that fancy. What he does is to buy ITM calls and then sells OTM against them to cover the premium. The point is to get a free trade. In theory everything is beautiful, until those shorts get hairy and wipe your entire account. You have to babysit those trades and close the shorts manually. So you better have something automated that monitors the price constantly, like he does.
I have talked with him, watched many of his videos, recreated some of his backtests and I am impressed so far. There is much he does not cover in his social media that provides more of the edge than what he speaks about on his broadcasts.
Thanks for the extra info Matt.. Did you use ORAT Backtester or the same Omega BTest software, as he did, to confirm or match his outcomes ??
I am still evaluating and in dialogs with him. He has been generous with his time. I have not dug deeper into his other sources of edge. I did talk with him about ORATS proprietary indicators.
