    Hi,
I wanted to buy a Dec15 Put option (stock ticker DYN), but the order got rejected with this message:
"Order rejected: Opening option orders for options expiring on this symbol today will not be accepted after 12:15 PM ET."
What does this mean? Is this specific to this ticker (couldn't find any related news),
or is it rather b/c of this reduced market day today (ie. market today closes early at 13:00 ET)?

Enter an order on another symbol away from the market.

I had no trouble entering an order for a put option in DYN in our Schwab account. And that was a minute ago, at 12:30 PM eastern time in the USA.

Which broker are you using and what country are you in?

    [Edit]
The error message referes to "options expiring on this symbol today"?

But you're trying to buy or sell a December 15 put??

Either you entering data incorrectly or there is something wrong on your broker's platform and it is reading the order incorrectly.

Almost sounds like the broker's platform thinks you are trying to trade an index option that expires today with an AM expiration, or something like that.

It seems it was a system bug b/c after re-submitting the same order w/o any modification (ie. via the "Reuse"-button), it now mysteriously has accepted the order! Here's the screenshot of the two attempts:

Maybe in the first attempt the "Time-In-Force" was set wrong by the system (I only had entered "GTC" w/o any date).
BUT even then it should have accepted it b/c the time was 12:02 which is before the said 12:15... Very funny...
    Broker is TDA.

Yeah, indeed a good idea for "debugging" (getting certainty by using another ticker).
    Problem now "solved" (s.a.).
