"Democrats were also more likely to be willing to take the vaccine than Republicans, 71 percent to 48 percent". Scared Dems want to be first in line it looks like. Ha ha https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/o...avirus-vaccine-poll/ar-BB17Xkf0?ocid=msedgntp
One fix for this is to have private companies and government agencies say "No vaccine, no job". Fire everyone who refuses to get vaccinated. This is a great way to eliminate idiots from your workforce. Many states have laws mandating vaccines for public and private sector employment. These laws have typically not been applied in years. For example, in North Carolina they passed a law in 1956 requiring all state workers including educators to get the polio vaccine. Anyone who refused was fired. So there is a precedent for this.
I think it's actually higher at around 40 percent. I'm not sure though a vaccine is going to be necessary as the new case and new deaths continue their rapid decline across The US. I suspect that by the time a vaccine is here, that it will be a trickle of cases and people will not bother.
Back then, vaccines were about "public health". Now, too much danger of "intentional public harm" for political objectives.
They don't have to take it --- they can go find another job that does not require vaccination against highly communicable diseases for the sake of public health. For example a teacher can go work in one of those conservative religious schools.
Some will take the vaccine because their job requires it. Might end up regretting, too. (Wife's employer requires flu shot, but I'm not taking one... EVER!)
There are many jobs already that require vaccination(s) - especially in the healthcare field. In my consulting role I am required to be vaccinated since some of our customers in other countries require it to be on their campuses.
Weird take on "my body my choice". I could see this backfiring in the face of abortion activists and paving the way for birth control to end up on drug tests. It's an obvious direct conclusion that if forced injections are a requirement for a job, it's only a few really highly paid lawyers away from giving pro life people what they want. A drug test of course would be mandatory because forging vaccine certificates is fairly simple. The fallback if your vaccine isn't registered in system must be paper. Congratulations you played yourself. My body, my choice. Of course you'll argue employers as private entities can deny you based on your choice to be vaccinated but that is exactly my point. It won't be long before religious CEOs find some lawyers to swing it their direction as well. Typical of extremist diatribe, the extremist never considers their opposition's playbook because they foolheartedly believe their solution is The Only Way Forward (TM).
