What do you think has great effects on the oil markets? For ex: the us job report came out with less than expected results. would this be a mitigating factor on oil markets? I understand bigger events such as crisis in the Middle East, wars, a weak global economy and Chinese declining demands, but are there anything else somewhat more subtle things that effect the oil markets greatly. Oh yeah and a weakening dollar. Which for me is completely confusing. Why would people want to go long on oil even if you could buy it for cheaper; considering all the bearish sentiments around it. So that you could purchase more oil and when it does collapse youll end up losing more money??
BREAKING NEWS! Obama predicts a bull market in crude. It goes something like this, "We need to tax oil now when it is cheap because we all know it is going higher in the future." How's that $10 tax per barrel going to look if Crude hits $10?
wow cant believe he said that. i do believe that oil will go higher but when is the question and how high. Some people are saying 50 to 60$
Actually i was quite bearish on the oil outlook but i really dont think opec countries will hold out long. They need the revenues more so than they need their market shares.
Oil is NOT mostly traded on TA. Don't listen to this garbage. Oil is a very fundamentally driven market. Look at the forward curve for oil and tell me what you think.
But if you think about it oil rebounded after hitting lows of 27$. the reason for its rebound or slight rebound was bc people were thinking that was the bottom and started to buy. Thats to some degree TA. they were observing the charts and figured the bottom was at 27 ish.
%% Thats true, but some will not tell the truth. TA=price + volume. NOW who in his right mind ignores price + volume; i did hear about one[1] chicago trader when he bought one house, he used a bag of cash + told the REALTOR, NO, i dont care how much its costs. So maybe one invests, or trades without regard for price-volume LOL. NOT many, who with any wisdom or common sense, ignore price . But note even that chicago trader specified volume=one house.LOL; a title deed has the volume, usually one parcel......
you know what the hell i dont understnad. why in the world people are longing fcx?? Its major copper (not to mention some oil and gas asset )company and today it went up big at the start of trading. Prices of cooper is tanking and along with oil. the global economy is down and this company is strapped with debt so why the hell would people be wanting to long this stock??? Goddam idiots. who would want to purchase anything but shorts into a company like and yet it rallied for two freakin days. i just dont understand these goddamn morons and what could possibly be their reasoning. I say this with some anger due to the fact i had purchased a couple of puts for 3.50. I saw how copper was tanking along with oil in premarket and thought it was a good bet. But then the freakin stock takes off. WTF!!!!!
