  1. Oanda hacked and apperently up to two thirds of all websites ?

    "Hi Everyone,

As you may be aware, a security issue has been identified in the past 24 hours that affects the software used to secure most encrypted Web communication globally. The bug affects most Internet users (current estimates are that up to two-thirds of all secure websites on the Internet may have been affected).

The bug, named “Heartbleed”, potentially allows hackers to access information that is normally protected by SSL encryption, including “https” secure webpages. OANDA’s trading servers were not affected, however, the servers that host portions of our website were potentially at risk; there is a possibility that fxTrade passwords may have been exposed for customers logging into fxTrade via the website yesterday and earlier today (EDT). (Logins via MT4, our APIs, our mobile applications and the Java Desktop GUI were not affected by this security issue.) Our security team has implemented the bug fix, and has confirmed that no customer funds have been affected.

Our audits show no evidence to suggest that any OANDA client passwords were compromised. However, exercising an overabundance of caution, we recommend that you immediately change your account password. To do so, please sign into your fxTrade account and select “change password."

For any additional questions and concerns about your account(s), please contact our Client Experience team by telephone (click here for a list of local numbers) or via frontdesk@oanda.com.

For your additional protection, we recommend that you check with the other websites you use for a Heartbleed statement before logging in (sites using SSL show as “https,” or a lock image).

    Thanks,
    The OANDA Team"
