boom... the core of this article produces all the proof any trier of fact should need to conclude Trump was not attempting to obstruct justice when he fired Comey. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/01/us/politics/trump-comey-firing-letter.html?_r=0 ... Later that day, Mr. McGahn gave Mr. Miller a marked-up copy of the letter, highlighting several sections that he believed needed to be removed. Mr. McGahn met again that same day with Mr. Trump and told him that if he fired Mr. Comey, the Russia investigation would not go away. Mr. Trump told him, according to senior administration officials, that he understood that firing the F.B.I. director might extend the Russia investigation, but that he wanted to do it anyway. Mr. McGahn arranged for the president to meet in the Oval Office that day with Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Mr. Rosenstein, who he knew had been pursuing separate efforts to fire Mr. Comey. The two men were particularly angry about testimony Mr. Comey had given to the Senate Judiciary Committee the previous week, when he said “it makes me mildly nauseous” to think his handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation might have had an impact on the 2016 election. Mr. Comey’s conduct during the hearing added to concerns of Mr. Sessions and Mr. Rosenstein that the F.B.I. director had botched the rollout of the Clinton investigation and had overstepped the boundaries of his job. Shortly after that hearing, Mr. Rosenstein expressed his concerns about Mr. Comey to a White House lawyer, who relayed details of the conversation to his bosses at the White House. During the May 8 Oval Office meeting with Mr. Trump, Mr. Rosenstein was given a copy of the original letter and agreed to write a separate memo for Mr. Trump about why Mr. Comey should be fired. Mr. Rosenstein’s memo arrived at the White House the next day. The lengthy diatribe Mr. Miller had written had been replaced by a simpler rationale — that Mr. Comey should be dismissed because of his handling of the Clinton email investigation. Unlike Mr. Trump’s letter, it made no mention of the times Mr. Comey had told the president he was not under investigation. Mr. Rosenstein’s memo became the foundation for the terse termination letter that Mr. Trump had an aide attempt to deliver late on the afternoon of May 9 to F.B.I. headquarters in Washington. The White House made one significant revision, adding a point that was personally important to Mr. Trump: “While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau,” the letter said.
now... when you realize Comey put the fix in for Clinton... and consented to the destruction of evidence... and this case should really be about Comey... and Muellar would have to recuse himself... https://www.washingtonpost.com/powe...2cc069f2c37_story.html?utm_term=.ac141aa0bf79 Sens. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) and Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) sent a letter Thursday to FBI Director Christopher A. Wray demanding documents to flesh out what to them seems a suspicious timeline: that Comey was apparently drafting statements to close the Clinton email probe at least two months before he publicly announced in July 2016 that the FBI was shuttering its investigation. If that timeline is correct, they said, it means that Comey would also have been planning to exonerate Clinton before the FBI ever interviewed her, or 16 other “key witnesses,” about her email server. “Conclusion first, fact-gathering second — that’s no way to run an investigation,” Grassley and Graham wrote in the letter to Wray. “The FBI should be held to a higher standard than that, especially in a matter of such great public interest and controversy.” this in light of the fact... comey had planed to ... Grassley and Graham raised other concerns with the timeline of how the Justice Department operated around Comey’s decision-making in the Clinton email investigation as well. They said that the DOJ “entered into highly unusual immunity agreements with [Clinton aides] Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson in June 2016” — at least a month after Comey would have been drafting an exoneration statement. Those immunity agreements were especially problematic, Grassley and Graham argued, because they stipulated the DOJ would destroy records and laptops not turned over to the investigative team — “evidence that had not been fully and completely reviewed,” the senators wrote
Totally true. Totally. I don't follow at all the lefty gloating over the exposure of discussions and considerations leading up to the firing of comey. That is all a frigging gift from the gods at trial. And then this thing documenting comey's perjury and pre-determination. Another gift from the gods. Next up, although it may take a couple months is when the judicial watch types get the court to order the un-redacting of the communications between loretta's security detail and bubba's security detail showing they communicated and coordinated security measures between the two parties when they met on the tarmac. In other words, loretta knew that bubba was coming. That will put an end to that little bullshiite cover up right there. Speaking about things that all a trier of fact needs: Match up that draft letter of comey's with his testimony before the committee stating that he did not reach a conclusion about hillary until AFTER the witnesses were interviewed. Not sure what more you need to establish perjury. Unless you can get away with some kind of hillary defense which would be " it was not intentional because I did not know that they were going to see my draft letter when I said it." Not the best defense, but that type of thing works when the political climate is right.
excellent point... Comey will be submitting new testimony by the end of the week... unless even worse facts for him are coming out. We knew he was so full of shit in testimony before congress. That guy is the perfect manifestation of D.C. swamp. He is the creature in the movie posters you see rising up from the lagoon with toilette paper from the clinton's commode hanging off him. our issue is he is just one of thousands of clones in D.C. And, speaking to friends who still live there. They don't even realize it. They really do live in an echo chamber they think they are patriots and the true patriots have to put up with them in silence because so many of these left traitors to the constitution are in control. None of this surprises me. As I have said before in the 80s I worked for the democratic policy committee. When you walked into the policy committees economic office... on the walls in Hart building in the sitting area were pictures of workers. written on the pictures in spanish were all sorts of commie sayings. The one I remember best was "the land belongs to the people who work it." . The dnc was filled with commies as far back as the 80s. you had to be a true believer to work for the wages they used to pay back then.

Bad day for the lefty loons when even Huffpo can't find someone to try to put a spin on the trump draft letter. Bottom line: Obstruction of justice conviction against Trump is not going to happen- nor an impeachment from it. Sorry libtards. That's gotta hurt. Ironically though. Best thing to happen would be for Mueller to go down that road because it generate loads of drama and resources and he would ultimately lose and would be showcases as a political hack. He won't do it though. He has minor charges on Flynn and Manafort that he can get convictions on so that is a given but they do not reach trump. Mueller will still flail around flipping over rocks looking tax issues or condo deals in Russia or something and he will find some stuff. Prosecutors can always find things in an enterprise of any size. But Muellers charge is to investigate russian interference and collusion and the further afield he gets from that by looking at hotel deals in Indonesia etc. the more he is portrayed as just a political hack roaming around trying to find something on trump rather than the russians. Of course the obstruction of justice fake allegations were a beautiful opportunity because it involved both the russians and trump. EXCEPT THAT IS NOT WORKING OUT AND WILL NOT WORK OUT. So sad. Even huffpo has gone flaccid. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...tice-case-against_us_59ac0f80e4b0d0c16bb525e4
