Also been a proponent of nuke. Three Mile Island nuclear reactor to restart under Microsoft deal A Three Mile Island nuclear reactor is set to come back online after more than five years under a new deal between Microsoft (MSFT) and Constellation Energy (CEG). The announcement on Friday boosted shares of the Baltimore-based energy provider by more than 20 per cent during the trading session.
That was a joke, a wild child running loose at TMI. You will find support for nuclear power is not that split, and I and many think Germany for example went too far decommissioning it's reactors, at least too soon. Back in the day however they could build them but not with much of an eye to decommissioning at EOL. That became a serious socialised cost when the governments had to pick up the tab. Nowadays however the design engineering encompasses EOL too so that is far better. My aunt's husband worked on the Peach Bottom 1 experimental tborium/hybrid plant, which I think is another Constellation energy concern.
Considering I have done contract work on industrial control systems, some of which have been employed at nuclear sites, I would venture to guess, I have done more for nuclear energy than 99.9% of the general population. Next question.
First off, this is not a trade. The thread is clearly in the 'Stocks' section and not the 'Trading' section. If we are going to discuss it, lets start off by using the correct terminology. In fact, it is going quite well. They have been hit with a string of bad news that has had little impact on the stock price. Wildchild has a very simple formula to follow. Generate a view of the risk, generate a view of the reward, and when asymmetry exists, and is skewed heavily towards the reward side, then you consider getting in. Now notice the word 'consider', you only 'consider' to go in or not, you need confirmation to actually pull the trigger. Of course, this assessment is iterative and when I feel the asymmetry diminishes I will exit regardless of if I made or lost money. Notice, that this methodology completely removes emotion from the decision process. The only real fault with the trade is I was considering two companies with similar set ups, BA and NKE, based on recent events NKE was clearly the better choice. All in all, it does not matter because I took a small position and BA can go to zero and it would have almost no impact on my bottom line. There is no emotion involved.
I don't really have questions, my dad had two engineering degrees and desiged power plants and grid systems in many countries. You pick stuff up.

Joe Biden did enormous damage to the nuclear industry by putting this fruitcake in charge. If you consider this person 'normal', then I guess it is complement, when you call me weird. Of course you are Canadian and are thus inconsequential. For instance, do you remember when Canada got involved in WWII? Neither does anyone else.
