Protesters gather outside Birmingham bar over 'racist' dress code by Muriel Bailey Saturday, June 20th 2020 Sorry, the video player failed to load.(Error Code: 101102) 5 VIEW ALL PHOTOS BIRMINGHAM, Ala (WBMA) — Protesters gathered in front of The Woolworth bar in Five Points South in downtown Birmingham Saturday. They say the initial dress code the bar posted a few days ago is racist. The bar posted to its website saying jerseys or athletic wear, cargo pants, construction boots, skullcaps, bandanas, chains and clock necklaces are not allowed. Later the bar issued an apology for its dress code and removed it.
If it is a fancy bar looking for high end clientele then those dress code items should not be a problem. When I go to watch football or soccer at a bar it is usually a bar that wants fans to come and watch football and soccer or is casual. If people do not like a dress code it was probably a stuffy fancy bar I guess and most would not want to go anyway.
