Not your grandmothers’s thrift store: Secondhand retail expands Throughout the Bay Area, shoppers looking for high-quality products at bargain prices are increasingly choosing the secondhand experience. From ThredUp, a previously online-only thrift store that has started opening brick-and-mortar stores, to the iconic Goodwill, which has made efforts locally to both renovate stores and expand, purveyors of used clothing and other goods have been active recently.
