I posted in the other thread on the topic, I just installed Norton on a couple of computers, and I would have to opt in to have them use my computers for mining. I didn't opt in and looking at my computers I am not seeing any excessive use or apps running that would indicate it is running in the background.
When I first read that headline, I immediately thought of McAfee and the bet he made about Bitcoin reaching a certain price target a couple years ago...aside from the fact that he has not been involved with McAfee for over a decade, it kinda made sense.
McAfee did get accused by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of fraud and money laundering over his use of social media to promote crypto coins and was indicted by prosecutors in Tennessee and New York on tax evasion charges and crypto currency fraud because he allegedly owed the U.S. 4,214,105 USD in taxes between 2014 to 2018.
