I've set up my account and verified it, have already changed my trading permissions through settings and have been approved for over a week now. Whenever I make a buy order and for 100 shares market or limit the platform notifies me with "no trading permissions" as before, even though there is. Is it possible I haven't set up something on the account still or what? I would call customer service, they don't answer and had me on the line for almost 5 hrs. There must be something I can do to troubleshoot this issue.
Which broker? IB? You need to get trading permissions for the products you want to trade. You have to go to Account Settings then go to Trading Permissions Also if you are trading Pre-market or after hours you need to have it allowed. https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=47551
No, there is not. They changed their approval process and they are inundated with RHers opening accounts. It took me almost two weeks to options approval and I've been a customer of IBKR for 23 years. You cannot apply for other asset classes while you have a pending approval.
The permissions are not pending and approved, I've signed all necessary documents and account settings. I should be able to make a trade and it still notifys me with "no trading permissions". Even if I have insufficient funds, it should really say that if I make an order beyond my balance. Need to troubleshoot ibkr seems to be a great platform for trading. Yes, this is when making a trade when market is closed, just testing the account making sure it's functioning before trading
Same here. I just opened an additional account with them and it took 1 full week to get permissioned to trade future. I had to chat with their help desk to have the problem solved. I would suggest you to do the same: just open a chat and wait for someone to be available. Just be patient.
