Just about every day it seems I make money in the morning in the index futures then manage to give it back in spades after lunch. From now on 11:30 AM ET and I'm done for the day. WLD Anyone else find mornings profitable and afternoons suck?
I've found that to be true with EUR/USD. Most of my big winners have been in the morning and most of my losses have been in the afternoon. You'd think I'd stop trading in the afternoon because of this, wouldn't ya?
I try not to have any trades on between 1:45 CT and 2:45CT. After that, watch for fund rebalancing and go for the ride.
Range narrows and things that would be good signals earlier in the day are not. I found today tha I can adjust what I do to accomodate the range and nothing in the plan has to be changed at all... I might look at earnings by the hour and find that some hours aren't worth it even without the bad trades though, I'll do that next week...
For the past 3 years I have stopped trading around 11:30am EST with decent profits and no desire to make my butt soar sitting for 8 hours more.
actually I been thinking about that. Building a trading rig where the monitors are up on the wall at eye height with a key board levitated as well. This would be a high energy trading rig. One could do squats too with this rig. Or use a treadmill
Well to put this in perspective, Europe stops trading around 12:00 PM noon, after that you are trading chop with no volume.. of course the losses will come.
