Read a story this week end about a NIO vehicle (sedan) completing a 1000km (625 mile) trip on a battery charge. (Of course it was likely under ideal conditions... warm weather, flat terrain, no fat passengers... maybe even "hyper-miling", who knows?... but still) Seems to dispel concerns about "range", however it was done on a vehicle with 150kw battery pack... Tesla's are ~ 330 miles on a 100kw battery, as per Musk. (Musk says, "~ Tesla could get greater range with a much larger battery pack, but the cost would be too high.") Personally, I think there is some notion to the worth of NIO's future.... but that is mixed with my concern that the entire move to EVs is is a BULLSHIT scam. FWIW...
Chart analysis, hindsight analysis, or whatever : The time to take a long position was May 2020 Then it formed a very tall mountain peak. Then the time to short it was Nov 2021. Now it is too late to short it. Too bad you have missed two boats already.
What about a long position now based on a return of price to the May 2020 levels where it blasted off from and in conjunction with the information provided to you regarding the successful long range trip? I think thats the point of the post. Everyone can see for themselves what the price has done in the past.
That space is getting awful crowded. Seems like everybody and his brother is starting an EV car company.
You know this is a wallstreetbets darling? So should you go long? I think it is a gamble kind of stock.
