NinjaTrader7 has a journaling problem.

I noticed a peculiar issue with NT7 in my sim testing about the journal. Trades would appear and disappear in the journal based on how many days back you went in the particular sim account.

I chalked it up as a quirk with Ninja's sim engine. But when I noticed it live trading, I have an issue.

Take the following four screenshots of the live account trading journal.

Here's the first two. Look for the trade highlighted in the red rectangle, in the black circle.

Note the exit time of the trade. WTF is this?

    Houston, we have a problem.

If you notice, all we did was change the journal start-date by one day. So the journal is telling me that that particular trade exit time had two different entry prices based simply on the date of the entry. But that trade was not entered on the 13th of Feb, but the 8th of Feb. So which is correct?

    Oh, it gets better!!

Here's what it looks like from the full trade journal from the start. Note the red-shaded area.

Look at the dates and exit times. Why do those trades not show up on the other trade summaries? Specifically the $470 profit trades? What, those trades simply don't exist when the journal is compressed a few weeks later? They were opened and closed within the shorter-date range windows. So why do they not show up period?

And then that very last trade. I closed that April short at 53.45, but it was for nearly $300 profit, not a $180 loss! My entry on that trade was not $53.27, but way above it!

The only accurate figure here is that final figure in the bottom cumulative profit column from the entire Jan-09 to Feb-18 listing. Yes, that is the only thing I can trust with NT7's journal. It seems to have this problem of combining executions from one part of the database into different entries in another part.

I ain't no programmer, but I can tell you one thing; It is really depressing that I spent all that money on a lifetime license for the thing and for as long as it has been out, it still has bugs like this on a live account. It is depressing that I have to rely on my broker statements to verify trades now. This is unacceptable.

It has not yet affected my actual live trading per se, but NinjaTrader is on notice. If your software causes me to lose live money due to bugs in your software that I paid for in full, I will attempt to get a refund for what I paid for the software.

Jeez, something else I just noticed. On that last pic, look at trade #28, and compare that with the exit time on the other two journal pics. Then look at the entry times. I have NEVER entered a trade at 18:00:06 hours eastern time, 6 seconds after the market re-opens!
