(RNN) - Nikki Haley resigned as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations on Tuesday, media reports indicated.
She served as governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, the first woman and Indian-American to serve as governor in that state and the second Indian-American governor after Bobby Jindal, who served as Louisiana’s governor.

She didn't like the hawkish position or wants a run against Trump in 2020?

  7. So, let's see now.

Nikki wants to be closer to home, South Carolina.

Sessions will be gone within the next six months.

Then Lindsey Graham is appointed AG, so his senate seat will need to be filled.

And which state does Lindsey represent. Oh, that's right. South Carolina.

Can you say Senator Nikki Haley, boys and girls?

    WINNING!!!!

I thought about that... but Senator is a step down from Sec. of State.
Hillary went the other way. :D

  9. She is not secretary of state. She is ambassador to the UN.

She has checked the foreign affairs box for her resume in regard to a presidential run further down the road, not 2020.

And she has two teenage kids and is on the road around the world constantly. Being a senator lets you go home often and keeps your resume peppy and is also good for the longer term if it works out. The UN position and Secretary of State position burn you out fast due to the travel.

I remember one female candidate who stepped down after just one term as Secretary of State but reappeared right on schedule. What was her name now? Oh, that's right. Hillary. Yeh. people follow plans. Hillary knew she needed to get in and get out to get the foreign affairs experience on her resume but leave before you inevitably get burned. She almost made it but got tagged with the Benghazi fiasco on the way out.
