Nikkei 225M day session chart vs 24 hour chart

  1. Suppose I only trade the Nikkei 225M (OSE) during the first few hours of Tokyo open (0845~, local time).

Which chart should I have, the day session only or 24 hour chart? If I have the day session only (the left), I will frequently have huge gaps in my chart which will make it difficult to figure out the context during the open and will only have a couple of bars with nothing more on the left to base my trade on.

Nevertheless, since it is a stock index, the hours which those stocks are actually being traded should have a different level of significance than hours in which they are not. Also, as far as I know, the difference in volume between night and day session in Nikkei is not as great as in the e-mini s&p.

If I trade Tokyo open, I will use the day session chart only.
Most of the time, you will see gap during opening as in most other Asian Indices.

Nikkei volume outside RTH (T + 1 session?)
is quite sizable. Many people trade Nikkei (from OSE, sgx ...)
    during US session.

  3. So that’s 08:45 to 15:15, right? What about lunch break? Since the Japanese stock market have an hour lunch break, does your futures chart ignore 11:30-12:30?

    Thanks!
