Hello I am currently trading Nikkei 225 mini from Osaka Exchange. Currently, Interactive broker charges 40 yen one way for one contract of Nikkei 225 mini. Is this commission very expensive compared with brokerage offered in Japan? I cannot read japanese so I can't search on Japanese brokerage. Hoping that someone who can read Japanese can tell me this. Thanks in advance!
Most of the brokers here charge between 40 and 50 yen. Just one charges less, 35 yen. But even if you wanted to use a cheaper broker in Japan you wouldn't be able to as you must have an address in Japan. Also, IB's intraday margin is less than what the brokers here require, which is mostly 100 to 120%. I think you're ok with IB. Until recently I too used IB. But lately, executions/cancellations thru BookTrader sometimes hang for up to 6~7 seconds during fast market moves. Changed to a local broker that just revised its system to where orders/cancellations take only about 40 ms, and so far no hanging.
Thanks for information. Commission wise it seems to be very reasonable. Now what concerns me is the hanging execution/cancellations. I am looking to order via Sierra Chart using API. Hopefully I do not get that type of problem !
OMG I have this problem too. I submit a limit order then cancelled it. It takes like 7 seconds to disappear ! If I just execute orders right away with one profit target and one stoploss. Will any of my orders be ignored due to lag? or just limit order cancellation get affected?
I think the orders/cancellations go through. The problem is that you can't use BookTrader again during the hanging period.
