Nielsen's expected departure is a part of a massive DHS overhaul engineered and directed by top Trump adviser Stephen Miller, according to a senior U.S. official. It's unclear whether Nielsen is deciding to leave voluntarily, or whether she has been pressured to resign. Nielsen has served as DHS secretary since December 2017, and questions about how much longer she might last have swirled for months as the president voiced his mounting frustrations over illegal immigration levels.

So, once again, a "journalist" is trying to manage the lefty narrative.

Let's not forget her days were numbered long before this.

  3. Trump worked her to death like a sled dog.

Congress has spoken- through its inaction- and made it clear that it wants a complete and total collapse of the border and visa overstays. That goal is almost accomplished.

We didnt give the girl much to work with in regard to new laws.

The reality at hand now is that the DHS Secretary is basically a front-line commanding general now trying to find troops to send to the border. Bringing in border patrol agents from other parts of the country to pile sandbags against the tide, etc. She basically failed at being a commanding general rather than as a DHS Secretary. You gotta declare martial law when it gets to that point. Trump needs to do that.

I do not see anything on the horizon that will fix the total collapse of the border and visa overstays. We are already basically just relegated to watching it happen now. Congratulations lefties. You wanted to damage your country very badly to bring in new democrats and you have done that.

  4. The chaos at the border falls squarely in the laps of establishment Republicans. They could have done something, they did nothing and we all know why. Slave labor. Millions of illegals have no impact on their lives, none, zero, nada.

  5. She should have been fired long ago. There are two types of advisors. One tells you what you cannot do. The other tells you how to do what you want to do. She was the former. Useless in this type of situation.

  6. Might help if Trump knew what he wanted to do. I have heard that there is going to be a border shutdown, and then there is going to be a year's probation before that will happen, and that Mexico is doing nothing, and that Mexico is now doing a great job- ALL IN A TEN DAY PERIOD.

He needs legislation to accomplish a change in amnesty laws. If the new person tells him what he wants to hear- which is that he does not need a change in the laws, then fine, I will watch. I guess we are going to do something about visa overstays too- some day, sometime, on some planet. Certainly not this one.

Wait, I was just getting ready to take a couple Midol because I am on the rag about some of this stuff, but Lara Logan just came on Fox. She is getting older but still looks like she is a sheet-kicker and likes to have sex in dangerous places around the world. I might be okay now. Not sure. Thank you for your concern.

It only took you a little over a year to realize martial law is Trump’s only viable option at the border. Good for you.

    Learning is good.

  8. Now one ever questioned that you are leadership position when it comes to open borders.

Excuse me but it’s Trump that is allowing people through the border at record levels. The border would be much more secure if Hillary were the president but you right wingers are too stupid to listen to what people are telling you.

Trump is a failure at damn near everything, even his own top priorities. He’s living off of Obama’s economy and fucking everything up because he is a poor manager and nobody likes him.

You’re complaining it’s all congress and poor trump blah blah blah. Congress had numerous immigration reform plans that included all the security funding he could ever want but he turned them down.

Now what do we have, record numbers of people crossing the borders, courts with longer backlogs and even more visa overstays.

And screw Nielsen, she should have resigned when they started separating children from parents. What a clusterfuck that was. Now she has kids sleeping under overpassees on rocks and even more caravans right behind them.

You guys keep blaming democrats but it’s the republicans that keep failing.

  10. Your binary mind cannot process the fact that there is more than one factor at play.

One is the getting across the border. Most people think that Trump is working that issue rather vigorously with complete and total opposition from the democrats and never-trump or castrated republicans.

And then there is the other -but primary- issue: which is the fact that if they can even get two feet on American ground and assert amnesty claims then they cannot be removed. That is the major problem. The getting across is a problem but not being able to get rid of the ones who did not evade capture but were captured on american soil is the biggest problem and it is the driving factor for millions more to come. That requires a change in legislation but you and your open border ilk will not support. It is also the root cause of children being detained or not being detained here or there. They should have been bounced along with their family or pretend-families right from the get-go. Toss them back into mexico. Send them a notice when they can legally show up at a port of entry to attend their hearing near there, whenever that is. Two or three years or whenever. But not allowed into the country until and only for their hearing. Must show up at legal port of entry with your hearing notice.
