Nicotine sucks

  1. I've been trying to catch another vice as alternative for caffeine and alcohol.

Marijuana is illegal in Romania but I did try in in Netherlands some 10 years ago. The conclusion is inconclusive, I didn't have enough time to sample it but I would give this description: "One cigarette makes you feel about the same as two sixpacks of beer. Absolutely wasted that is but super strangely, without the awful withdrawal effects of alcohol. With beer you'd have suffered like a dog for a day or two before clearing it out, with marijuana though, after 3-4 hours you feel it starting to dissipate and after another two hours you're like it never happened. Unbelievable from an only-alcohol-legal standpoint of view.

So I tried nicotine, that is cigarettes. You can read the re-enforced and repeated meme anywhere that it's like the most addicting thing in the world. Well they might not have sampled =~ 50 years olds who only knew coffee and alcohol for legal drugs.

Nicotine makes me nauseous almost instantly, like marijuana does instantly (but then it offers a reward for that) or alcohol does after some 5-10 minutes of ingestion. But without the pleasurable effects of alcohol. As far as I sampled it, it sucks balls. You can have it people, I'm not interested.

What I'm interested in is making marijuana legal across EU. That would be something I could use.

I doubt you'll go to jail in Europe for any quantity that you may possess as a personal stash. If you really want to smoke weed, find a friend that smokes and slip him $100. You'll have all you need for a while, legalities be damned. Don't sweat something that will never happen.

But regarding your addictions to alcohol... weed is not going to cure that. It won't. There's neuro-transmitters in the brain that that dictate what you do or do not crave. And whoever said one cigarette is equivalent to two six packs of beer lol... has done neither. It doesn't even make sense. It's like comparing apples to.... (I don't even know what to insert here) ... spare tires.... because that statement is so far out there it barely deserves a comment other than to the effect of how far out of left field it resides..

Use the strongest black tea you can find. And sip on it all day. But if you are in the habit of consuming alcohol during the day, even that may not help. Caffeine is good, despite what you have read. Alcohol... not so much.

Keep the caffeine, and loose the alcohol.

I think legalizing weed in the EU would be a good move, especially with all the potential benefits. But honestly, finding a healthier balance in life is probably the best way to go

  4. Well. I still can't for the life of me find pleasure in smoking (nicotine). I tried the least amout of nicotine per cigarette (1mg), smoking slowly, drinking a carbonated sweet beverage. Every fucking time I'm nauseous as fuck, struggling not to vomit and takes hours to clear this nasty sensation. I might be intolerant to nicotine or just not try hard enough but it's hard to keep trying when there's no reward at the end of the stick.

In the meantime the motherfuckers (government) raised my taxes so now I pay close to Swedish level of absurd while living in Eastern European level of bullshit so I'm really considering getting the fuck out of here for tax purposes. Change my fiscal residency that is. Netherlands looks, looked the most tempting before downgrading the fiscal exemption for expats from 5 years to 2 years. I'd be left with almost €1500 more than what I draw home out of my salary now. Could fucking live there permanently on these money but I'm looking to only rent something and be there occasionally. You know why ;)

Only problem is my employer has no residence in Netherlands so I'd have to change that and in this tough market it's unadvisable. They do have Germany presence but on €500 more, I'm not getting ahead.

And to make myself understood: I only care for countries that have legalized weed. Fuck the other backwards retarded bastards.

This is categorically false. A half-case of beer is NOT the same as a cigarette. FFS,

    Don't believe the BS.

  6. Well, I tried it myself and agree it's not absolutely true, marijuana and alcohol effects are very different. But 99.98% of the people I encounter around me have never tried weed so I'm using the "two sixpacks of beer = one joint" to make them approximately conceptualize the effect.

Or at least that's how I perceived it, in the very limited time I had to experiment. Note that I've no idea on weed types and grade so I just bought something, which might be like the first time getting drunk doing it with a half liter of vodka instead a pint of beer, so I dunno what I consumed and I definitely wasn't used to it. But it seemed awfully potent compared to beer and I would definitely rate my ability to drive a car after the act as "no way", what the heck, even a bike, I could barely make it to the bathroom. But it might have to do with tolerance coze I definitely saw people riding bikes while smoking weed and I was wondering how they manage that.

Dude, who is talking about weed? You said that one tobacco cigarette is equivalent to 12 cans of beer.

"I didn't have enough time to sample it but I would give this description: "One cigarette makes you feel about the same as two sixpacks of beer..."

You need to try living in reality, sir.

  8. My bad then, I guess I'm not used to weed-related jargon. I said "cigarette" in the context of weed, so "smoking marijuana by means of a thin cylinder of paper filled with it". Suppose I should have used the word "joint" as in "slang term for a cigarette filled with cannabis instead of tobacco". But you see, even joint refers to cigarette so I don't think it's that technically wrong to use this term.
